The town was named after Edith, the wife of the then Governor
Fergusson in 1869.

The jetty, still an integral part of
the town's charms, was constructed in 1873 and at one time over 20,000
tons of salt were shipped from it annually. |

Edithburgh boasts some great eating spots including the Troubridge
Hotel, the Edithburgh Hotel, the Edithburgh Lodge, and a Chinese
restaurant.

costumes, and recreations of historic room settings. |

The town features a number of eating
establishments, including the interestingly named 'Shoals' Chinese
restaurant. |
